Closing a road and laying down turf, sounds a bit eccentric for the council, but we thought it was not only highly successful, but also a lot of fun, as did everybody we interviewed.
The Council were making a good point, closing a road for one day and transforming it into a safe, fun and green space did wonders for community spirit, local businesses and safety and hopefully inspired members of the local community that drive in the area, to leave their cars behind and walk.
